Yay for cousins

This past weekend Karisa and Katies came from Saskatchewan for a visit and, as usual, it was a blast. Of course we watched movies, we can't not do that. We watched 10 Things I Hate About You, She's the Man, and we saw Dreamgirls at the theater with Chryssie. Saturday night.....which I guess was yesterday, was when we watched She's the Man, and we stocked up on junk food; chocolate, chips, timbits, it was awesome. At some point near the end of the movie we all realized that we felt a little sick. We should have known better, everyone has overloaded on candy at least once in their life, but it was fun anyway. We laughed at ourselves. We laughed a lot this weekend. That's not surprising. That is something that takes up a good chunk of our time together, just laughing at ourselves or anything we may find remotely entertaining at the moment.

Along with the movies and laughter we also played a bunch of games. Dutch Blitz, Scum, and Mad Gab were our selections for the weekend. Mad Gab proved to be extremely entertaining for Ris and me. Some of the word combinations they have in there....It was fun.

Unfortunately, they were only here from Wednesday evening to very very early this morning, so we didn't have a lot of time together. Especially during Thursday and Friday as this was the last week of classes before exams and I couldn't miss school. That sucked. But we made up for that lost time, don't you worry. I really wish we could see each other more often, but I 'm glad for the time we do have together. It's that much more special.

One good thing about having exams this week: no school Monday, Thursday or Friday. Yay. Tuesday I have my Math exam at 1:00 in the afternoon, and my Science exam is Wednesday at 9:00 am. Prayers would be appreciated, because I'm really nervous. It's only two exams, but Math 11 is hard and I've always sucked in Science.

I wish I was sorry for my lack of updating recently, but really, I don't really care. It's my life, I'll blog it as I see fit. I highly doubt any of you would want to hear all about my completely eventless weeks, anyway. You'd fall asleep on the keyboard, trust me. So, until the next time hopefully in the near future when I have something interesting to post again, goodbye.

Hello there

Hey there, folks! How's life been for you? Me? Well, I can't complain. Over the last little while my friends and I have spent quite a bit of time hanging out at Lindsay's house which is always a blast. They're an awesome group of girls. I love 'em all. School is just about as good as school can get, I suppose. We had to watch Destinos again in Spanish. I'm sure it would all be very interesting if we could actually understand what was going on at every moment. We get the general idea of what's going on, but the little details as to what makes each episode important is lost on us. It is fun, though, to hear some of the guys in my class start making up what's happening. The come up with some pretty wild ideas sometimes. My Spanish teacher, Mrs. Sowerby, has been sick a lot these past two weeks. We've had a substitute almost half the time. Prayer for her would be very much appreciated.

There was another baby shower for Yvonne and Kyra on Sunday. Yvonne's friends put it together. It was fun. Kyra got some adorable outfits. Lots of pink, but since it's for a baby it's acceptable. Kyra spit up on me when I was holding her. I can forgive her, though. She spat up on Chryssie three times, I believe. I don't know why she didn't use the spit rag. Could have saved her shirt. Oh well.

I am home alone at the moment, just doing absolutely nothing. I'll go do my homework soon. It's not much. Just a few questions for science. We're studying cells now. It's enthralling, really. I now know one thing for sure: I am not taking biology next year. I've almost fallen asleep in class a few times now. I never would, though. That wouldn't be very good. Although the guy that sits next to me has no such qualms. I think he missed all the notes yesterday because he was asleep. What an idiot.

Well, sorry I don't have anything really interesting to report. Basically the past two weeks have been school and bordom. Thrilling. Wait, that sounds like complaining. I said before that I didn't have anything to complain about. Oops. It's not all that terrible, really. I've been able to read lots more, which I love doing. I'm re-reading the Chronicles of Prydain series by Lloyd Alexander. I read them in grade six, I believe. I like 'em. I'm now going to go finish off those few science questions. Woot woot!

What a party

Yesterday Steph and I went to Lindsay's house to hang out, along with a lot of Jacqui's (Lindsay's sister) friends. Unfortunately Hailey and Gabe couldn't come, but it was still a blast. We made rice krispie shapes with Christmas krispies and Christmas shapes. It was fun. Lindsay is scary to cook with. Never attempt it. Not that most people who read this blog would, but I thought you'd appreciate the warning nonetheless.

After we finished those, we sewed! I have never hand-sewn before, so it was quite interesting. Again, we made Christmas stuff. I know it's a little late, but I prefer to think of it as eleven months early. What each of us made were Christmas tree decorations. They were snowmen looking up at falling snowflakes, and it's stuffed. I don't know how to explain it. They look really pretty. Well, actually mine looks like crap next to Lindsay's and Steph's but I'm proud of myself. One of the beads have fallen off already. I wonder if that's my fault?

While we were working on those and the younger girls (by one year, but whatever) finished their ball ornaments, we all sat and watched Pirates of the Carribean. Great movie.

When that was finished, it was our turn to make the ball ornaments while the other girls did the sewing craft. We just took clear ball ornaments, took out the top part that hangs it, and put two or three different colours of paint in them. Once in there we turned the balls in all different directions and once the entire inside was covered we turned them upside-down in an egg carton so all the paint that wasn't on the sides would run out. The result was really pretty. I think we each made four. They apparently take quite a while to dry, so mine are sitting on the kitchen windowsill drying out. They're pretty.

So, it was a very fun day for us. We were there for most of the day, from 10a.m. until 5 p.m. Very fun.

Oh yeah, I have super exciting news!! For me, anyway. Karisa is coming soon!!! Yay!!!! I think she arrives on the 24th, but I'm not sure how long she's staying. I'm not sure if Katie is coming too. I've only heard about Ris. But I'm so excited! I haven't seen her for so long! Well, since October, but it feels like forever. I'm so happy! Hooray for me. But I will not go shopping with her. She cannot make me. I won't I won't I won't.

And if anyone hasn't figured it out yet, there are pictures of Kyra on Yvonne's And Chrystal's blogs. Very cute.

Bye people!
