Hello again

Yes, it is true. I am finally posting for this month. I know I'm cutting it kind of close, but that's alright. It's still November. And I've had no comments prompting me to post, so I did it all on my own. I hope that doesn't mean I've been given up on. Although I understand completely if that's true. Well, I'm getting tired of writing this paragraph, so let's move on, shall we?

So I don't believe I even told you that I applied to go on a missions trip with my school, but I'm going. Yippee!! My team is headed to Costa Rica over Spring Break. I'm so excited. And scared. I've never done anything like this before, but I think I need to. It'll be good. My team is awesome, although we're still a bit awkward with each other. But once we get to know each other better, I can tell it'll be crazy and so much fun. I really hope so, anyway, or it will be a very looong, boring plane ride. Wow, for a second there I totally thought I had spelled plane wrong.

So, I'm trying to get into the habit of reading my bible, which is something I do....well, not ever, pretty much. So I was reading in Romans 12, which is the chapter we're studying as a team, and there was one part that had a little thingy in the margin leading to another passage so I went there and looked it up and then there were more things to look up from there and it was so much fun! Who knew reading the bible was just one big treasure hunt? Well, probably every Bible teacher out there, but hey, I'm new at this. Gimme a break.

Anyway, as I was looking through it, I ended up in the Proverbs, and found two that for some reason stuck out at me. They are in Proverbs 25.

Verse 16:
"Have you found honey? Eat only as much as you need, Lest you be filled with it and vomit."

Verse 20:
"Like one who takes away a garment in cold weather, and like vinegar on soda, is one who sings songs to a heavy heart."

So, these ones I singled out I think because I have a tiny little idea of what they might be saying, but when I really stop to think about it, I just get confused. So, here's a thought. How 'bout if you people who are reading this give me your take on what they mean. I think it'd be fun to see what we come up with.

Oh! Breaking news! We are dancing in P.E.... WITH THE GUYS' CLASS!!! Yes, you read that right. MEI is allowing DANCING between boys and girls!! I mean, we have to hold hands and everything. It's pretty crazy.

In a couple weeks I'm going to be taking my road test to hopefully get my N. It's quite terrifying. Although, really, if Jared passed his test, I think I'll be okay. :P Not that he'll read this, but no offense meant. Well, not much anyway.

Christmas banquet is on the same day as my test. I'm excited. It should be very fun. Although I still need to get my ticket.....

So, that's it for this month. And I just want you to know that even though I don't post very often, I think about it a lot. About all those readers who must be so disappointed to open my blog to find that nothing new has been added. To those who feel that keen disappointment, I apologize. I would say I'll try harder, but I don't know how I'll feel later on. So, I say farewell. For now. For a while. Forever? Who knows?

(For those of you who are panicking at this point, don't worry, it's not really forever.)

Thanks to all,

~Kaels

Sweet post. Is this going to be your new ritual, posting at the end of every month? I'll keep checking, just in case you decide to get a little crazy and post earlier!

Hey kaeli!

Thanks for the update! I have bloglines now, so this way i dont have to be sad every night when you haven't updated your blog! So I was pleasantly surprised this morning to see your post! Costa Rica sounds like so much fun!! The awkwardness at the beginning is always.. um.. well awkward (haha) but later you won't even remember that because you'll all be so close!! :)

Interesting verses. Here are my thoughts.

Vs. 16: We have been given good things, but often we then take them in excess which isn't good for us. We abuse what we've been given.

verse 20: the thing i think of here is in times when i have been grieving or wanted to cry and someone has tried to distract me from it or make me happy. in those situations it is more harmful i think than helpful when it would be better to simply sit there and cry with someone. so pretty much i guess that it's important to be sensitive to what others are feeling and to be willing to go there with them. just a few thoughts! :)

Awesome post Kaeli. I love reading your posts and I love you. Those are some pretty interesting verses you picked. Can't say I really know what they're saying - the first is sort of like the cliche "everything in moderation". Glad to hear you're getting into reading your Bible - good practice to have. Maybe I'll join you in that! Have a great day - so excited for you to get your N. Love you beautiful!

Oh Kaeli! you make me giggle :D So glad for you that you get to go to Costa Rica. It will be a great learning experience - I'm sure of it! :) Also fun to hear that you're having fun reading your Bible. First thought that comes to mind about the singing proverb is that when someone is sad/heavy hearted, it's not always helpful to be all cheery and happy happy. could just make the person more aggravated.
I love reading your posts and I do check very often....looking forward to the next one. :D
