It seems just yesterday Vanessa was reminding me every day that August was almost over, now September has slipped by as well. What a crazy month it's been! Well, I shall do my best to bring up to speed on what's going on with me.
First off, I shall finish telling you about that day camp thing I started talking about last month. As I said, it was held by Northview, for teenage girls. It was amazing. The best experience of my summer. Every morning we watched a segment of the video series by Lisa Bevere, author of Kissed the Girls and Made Them Cry. She's an amazing speaker. I liked the videos better than the book, just because everything in there is information, things we need to know. It was kind of overwhelming, but not so much on video. it was very good. Then we had our first snack, which was smoothies. Everything we ate there was healthy and yummy. It was amazing. While we drank the smoothies, we had discussion about the video and then journaling time, if we wanted to write anything. Um....then we would do something else....oh. Worship. Strange that I forgot that. It's always my favourite part of anthing like this. I think there was usually a speaker during that time, and every one was powerful. Everyone who went up and spoke to us was blunt and didn't sugar-coat the truth. It was exactly what we needed to hear. Then we'd have another discussion in our small groups and then it would be lunch time. Then we had a game of some sort (always crazy) and then we had possibly another speaker and then our workout session. That was fun. Then we'd pretty much have free time where we hang out, journal, or write encouragement cards until our parents came. It was amazing.
Let's see...last I wrote about my job situation I was working at McDonalds. Yeah, I quit. I'm unemployed, and loving it. I really don't want to have to worry about a job on top of school and everything. Oh, school. Yes, that's started, obviously. It's been a couple weeks now. This semester I have Sewing, PE, Biology and Socials. It's not a bad semester, I guess. Bio's hard, though. Right now we have to invent a weed. It doesn't have to be realistic, but we have to do research and stuff for it, and drawings and stuff and it's just complicated and impossible. He showed us some examples of past projects, and they're amazing. I could never do something like that. It's very scary.
I have my driver's test scheduled, as well as my last three lessons with Young Drivers. It's unreal. In three months I could be driving ON MY OWN! I'm so excited. Oh, my instructor did take me on the freeway two lessons ago. I believe I was worrying about that two posts ago. It wasn't bad. Well, not as bad as I thought it would be. It was kind of scary at first, but after I got on there it was okay.
This past Friday I went with a couple friends to the BUG Tour, which came to my church. BUG stands for Beautiful Unique Girl. It's amazing. This year was even better than the last time they were here. It was amazing. I love these things. They never get old, are never redundant. They're always effective and touching. And so much fun.
Not much has really happened over the last month. Unless I'm totally missing something. I don't think so....
Well then, if I think of something else I'll post it. Sometime. Can't promise it'll be soon. Tata for now!
